Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month.  Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month. This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport. Our female selection for March is Distance Swimmer Meghan Abbott (Nipomo HS).

Returning Freshman Meghan Abbott was the leading scorer for the women's swimming team during the month of March.  Abbott scored a team-high 211 individual points and posted a scoring performance in all 15 of her starts.  In all, she boasted seven wins, while adding a pair of seconds among her podium worthy swims.  Abbott is already on the Cougars' all-time Top 10 for the 200-breaststroke (2:52.40) and is only seconds away from Top 10 marks in the 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyles. 

The Cougars six-woman swim team posted with a 3rd place finish in all four of their meets during the month of March.  Cuesta has only one more race before hosting the 2022 WSC Finals and ending the season at the CCCAA State Championship on the first weekend in May.
