Abbott Leads Cuesta to 2nd Place at the Bakersfield Invitational

The Women's team finished 2nd at the Bakersfield Invitational and was led by Freestylers Meghan Abbott and Jensen Perry led the scoring with three event titles.  Abbott handled the distance events and won the 200-individual medley and 500-freestyle and was the meet's leading scorer, while Jensen won the 100-freestyle and was touched out in the 50-freestyle.  Freshmen Ryan Rascon, Anna Kreowski and Chloe Porter completed the Cougars' five-woman team that accounted for almost half of the meet's top dozen scorers.  Rascon struck Bronze twice with 3rd place in both the 200-freestyle and 200 Breaststroke, while Kreowski equaled her point total with a Runner-up finish in the 100-butterfly and 4th place in the 50-freestyle.  Freshman Chloe Porter competed in the meet's two most contested events, the 50 and 100-freestyles.  She finished behind Perry in the 100-freestyle and Perry and Kreowski in the 50-freestyle.   The Cougars were without the services of double Cuesta Record Holder Annie Bartolome
