Women's Swim & Dive Claims 14th Place at 45th Finis Invitational

Cuesta Women's Swim and Dive continues to improve and claimed 14th place at their 18-team Finis Cuesta Swim & Dive Invitational.  The meet boasted 339 competitors, but the Cougars had only five athletes in the water.  Sophomore Presley Acosta led the Cougars with 36 individual points, while Freshman Hannah Kempf made her season debut with 29 points to help lead the Cougars.  Acosta qualified for the championship final (Top 8) in both the 100 (1:16.75) and 200-breaststrokes (2:46.52), while also scoring in the consolation heats of her other three events.  Kempf made consolations in all five of her individual events, including a pair of both 11th (100 IM & 500 free) and 13th (50 breast & 1650 free) place finishes, while just missing the championship final with a 9th place finish in the 50-backstroke (:35.36).  Diver Aubrie Kirkby Tatro, in her first competition of the season, also scored for the Cougars.  She claimed 13th place off the 1-meter board with 119.7 points.

The Cougars return to their Western State Conference schedule this Saturday (11:30) for WSC Mini Meet #2 in Ventura. (Note: No marks have been reported for Thursday's Sprint Meet)
