Swimming Heads North for the NorCal Invitational

Cuesta's Swim & Dive teams travel to the Northern California Invitational this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Santa Rosa College.  The NorCal Invitational is the Cougars' third and final multi-day championship meet of the season, until the conference finals and CCCAA State Championships in late April and early May.

Last week, Cuesta Women's Swim & Dive brought four athletes to the WSC Mini Meet #2 and claimed 8th place among the ten teams.  The Cougars were lead by Sophomore Presley Acosta, who took 3rd place in the 200-breaststroke to post the teams highest mark of the day.  She also took 4th in the 100-breaststroke (1:19.67), where she joined Diver Aubrie Kirkby Tatro, who earned 4th place off each board, with new season-highs.  She scored 138.2 points on the low board and 129.25 off the three-meter plank.  Freshman Madison Corrigan posted a team-high 38 points in the meet, outscoring Acosta and Kirkby Tatro by six and seven point, respectively.  Corrigan reached the Championship Final in all three of her events.  She took 5th place, right behind Acosta in the 100-breaststroke (1:20.85) and 7th in both the 200-free (2:15.30) and 500-free (5:54.89).
