Women's Aquatics Boasts Three All-Conference Performers

Cuesta Women's Swim and Dive finished 8th at the 10-team Western State Conference Swim & Dive Championships in Ventura last weekend.  The Cougars were led by a trio of all-Conference award winners, who accounted for six all-conference performances and 75 of the teams' 105 points.  Sophomore Presley Acosta led the squad by making her way to three Championship Finals.  She posted the team's best finish of the day with a Runner-up finish in the 100-breaststroke (1:15.37), while also taking the Bronze in the 200-breaststroke (2:46.76).  She finished her day with 5th place in the 200-individual medley (2:27.55).  She also hit new personal records in the 200 IM and 100-breaststroke, while finishing just two seconds off her best, and Cuesta's #5 all time 200-breaststroke mark (2:44.59). Freshman Madison Corrigan also scored 25 points in the lanes for the Cougars.  She reached the championship final in the 100-breastroke chased Acosta on her way to all-WSC honors.  She landed in 5th place with a time of 1:17.02.  Diver Aubrie Kirkby Tatro earned 28 points with 5th place on both boards, but also jumped into the lanes to fill her allotment of three events.  Kirkby Tatro won a consolation title in the 100-breaststoke (1:22.43).  She was 9th overall but joined Acosta and Corrigan to earn 40 of the team's 119 points in one event.

The Cougars did not produce any qualifiers for the 2024 CCCAA State Championship.
