Spikers Host Ventura in Final WSC-North Home Match

Women's Volleyball hosts rival #14 Ventura for their final Western State Conference North Division match at home on Wednesday (5 PM).  The Cougars will also celebrate "Sophomore Night" and recognize the squad's two official sophomores- Ashley Hale-Tignor (Red Bluff HS) and Morgan Krause (Santa Maria: Pioneer Valley HS), as well as some of their "Returning Freshman" planning to move on.  The unranked Cougars are a respectable 10-7 on the season, but only 2-4 in the Western State Conference, mostly due to battling with the visiting Pirates and two other Top 15 teams in their WSC circuit.  The Cougars are on the bubble for the post-season and a win over Ventura on Wednesday or a win over #12 Moorpark on the final day of the regular season should push them back into the post-season for the first time since 2007.  The Cougars also play at Pierce in Woodland Hills on Friday (6 PM).  The Cougars swept the Brahmas in their first meeting in SLO on October 6.

The Cougars fell to #13 Santa Barbara in a three-set sweep (25-14, 25-17, 25-16) last Friday.  Cuesta is also still planning to make-up a pair of WSC Inter-division matches, as well as play a WSC Crossover match on November 17.  They have agreed to host a make-up game with #6 Bakersfield on November 6 (6 PM) and are still locking down plans to make-up their cancelled match with unranked Antelope Valley from September 17th
