Cuesta Women's Volleyball finished its Western State Conference North Division schedule when they fell at #11 Moorpark, 25-21, 25-8, 25-21, last Wednesday.  The loss landed the Cougars in 4th place in the loop, behind the Raiders and two other ranked teams; #10 Santa Barbara and #15 Ventura.  Behind the highly ranked trio, the Cougars are still knocking on the door of their first playoff berth since 2007.  They are currently ranked 18th in the CCCAA's Southern California Region, with the top 18 teams earning a post-season bid. 

This Wednesday (3 PM) the Cougars hold their future in their own hands when the host Citrus, the 4th place team from the WSC-South, for the WSC Crossover Match.  The Owls are currently ranked 19th in the SoCal Region, which sets up a possible win or stay home scenario. Wednesday's will advance first out of their WSC Division and have the best chance to return to the playoffs. The Cougars, since 2007, have been mired in a twelve-year playoff drought, while the Owls hope to return to the post-season for the first time since 2013.  

Cuesta Women's Volleyball is building its way back to its past glory.  The Spikers own three CCCAA State Titles and are chasing their 22nd playoff berth since beginning play in 1976.  Women's Volleyball, despite their playoff draught, is second, behind women's swim and dive, among Cuesta's current women's sports for both overall team winning percentage (.643) and conference titles (18).
