Cuesta Women's Volleyball Opens 2022 in the West Hills

The Cuesta Spikers hosted their annual scrimmage tournament last Saturday and get their first taste of official action this Friday in Lemoore.  The Cougars open a doubleheader with host West Hills-Lemoore (1 PM) and face West Hills-Coalinga in the nightcap (3 PM).  

In 2021, the two squads from the West Hills finished the season on different streaks and one spot apart in the Central Valley Conference.  Coalinga finished the CVC schedule in 6th place thanks to a season-ending a six-match winning streak, while, Lemoore dropped its last five contests and landed one notch below the rival Falcons in the standings.  Unlike Cuesta, neither team reached the playoffs.

Cuesta landed in 3rd place in the Western State Conference and reached the post-season for the first time in 14 seasons.  The Cougars have never played an official match against Lemoore and have not played Coalinga since 2017, when they beat the Falcons in four games.  All-WSC Middle Blocker Meredith Donovan is the only returner on the Cougars 2022 roster, but they are ready to return to the post-season with another promising squad.  

The Cougars' first home game is scheduled for Wednesday, September 14th against Lassen
