Women's Volleyball battled through a tough Western State Conference and finished 5th in the circuit, which boasted three regional finalists. The Cougars compiled a 7-18 overall record on the season and had four players earn all-WSC recognition: including first team selection Katey Cramer (Arroyo Grande HS).
Katey Cramer earned her spot on the 2022 All-Western State Conference First Team with her elite all around play. She strengthened the Cougars' rotation and improved the team in every facet of game. Cramer was second on the team in Kills (236), Aces (39) and Digs (223), while also adding 16 Blocks. Her stellar rookie season also placed her among the Cougars' stars of the past on the school's all-time leader board. After her freshman campaign, she ranks 18th all time at Cuesta for Kills (236) and 9th for Service Aces (39) in a season.
Sophomore Middle Blocker Meredith Donovan (Templeton HS) earned all-WSC accolades for the second straight year. She was an all-WSC Honorable Mention pick in 2021 and was tabbed as a member of the all-WSC Second Team this season. The team's lone returner, Donovan increased her floor time this season and played through all of the rotations. On offense, Donovan led the team with 251 kills, which ranks 11th all time at Cuesta. Her play away from the net blew away her first-year totals in several categories- Kills (111 to 251), Service Aces (4 to 29) and Digs (36 to 286), however she still finished third on the team with 21 blocks. Donovan currently ranks 11th all time at Cuesta with 362 career kills.
Sophomore Setter Serah Basham (Ridgecrest, CA) and Freshman Middle Blocker Taylor Vannest (Turlock, CA) were both accorded All-WSC Honorable Mention. Basham led the Cougars' offense with 398 assists, while also adding a team-high 44 Service Aces, which landed her for 3rd all time at Cuesta, and 164 Digs. Vannest downed 99 kills on the season, while boasting a team-best .228 hitting percentage. She also led the Cougars with 56 total blocks.
