Cuesta Spiker Christelle Mouret Named to the CCCAA State Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll

Cuesta College's 2022 Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year Christelle Mouret has been selected to the 2021-22 California Community College Athletic Association's Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

Christelle Mouret did it all for Cuesta Women's Volleyball during her two seasons and matched her excellence on the court with a superior performance in the classroom.  Mouret was selected as Cuesta Volleyball's 2021 Player of the Year, as well as Cuesta's top female scholar-athlete.  Mouret's freshman season was limited by the pandemic to only seven matches, but it was good preview for Mouret's performance this year.  In that brief Spring snapshot, she paced the Cougars with 3.5 points per set, while also leading the team with 16 aces and adding 78 kills in 28 sets.  This Fall, she blossomed into a Star and was named to the 2021 All-Western State Conference First Team on the court and the all-WSC Academic Team in the classroom.  She was named Cuesta Women's Volleyball Player of the Year and led the Cougars with 205 kills, set a new school record with 51 service aces and was third on the team with 219 digs.  Mouret also led the Cougars, again, with 3.0 points per set and helped snap the program's decade-plus long playoff draught, as Cuesta reached the post-season for the first time since 2007.   Mouret, despite playing only seven matches during the pandemic shortened 2020-21 season, ranks 5th all time at Cuesta with 67 career aces.  She also compiled an impressive 3.875 GPA at Cuesta.
