Women's Volleyball Swept by SBCC in WSC-North Finale- Await WSC-North Crossover Foe

Women's Volleyball closed out the 2023 Western State Conference-North schedule by dropping a trio of identical 25-17 sets to #20 Santa Barbara. The visiting Vaqueros' victory clinched them a share of the WSC title, while locking the Cougars in 5th place in the loop.  The 20th-ranked Vaqueros join fellow WSC stalwarts #9 Ventura and #15 Moorpark as post-season locks, however the WSC-North regularly sends three or four members to the playoffs.  This year both LA Mission and Cuesta are hanging on the bubble and are both hoping to sneak into the post-season.  LA Mission has been in and out of the State's Top 25, but only 20 teams qualify for the playoffs.

Cuesta's Spikers will be able to help themselves next week during the Western State Conference Crossover on November 14.  The Cougars, as the 5th place team in the WSC-North, travel to the WSC-South to face either Glendale or Citrus in the circuit's seeding game.  Cuesta is locked in 5th place in the North, while Glendale and Citrus are one match apart for 5th place in the standings with two matches to play.  Cuesta has not played Glendale this year but beat Citrus in four sets when the Owls visited SLO on September 15.  The WSC's two divisions accounted for eight playoff teams in 2022, including five of the eight regional finalists.
