This Saturday, Cuesta's Water Polo team shall welcome back their former players as part of their final tune-up before the 2022 Western State Conference Tournament.  The women open the day against their Alumnae at Noon, while the men play at 1 PM.  Both games will boast rosters filled with former Cuesta greats from the college's powerful aquatic programs.   Cuesta College shall also host the 2022 Western State Conference Tournament on November 4-5 and the women are expecting, unless there are several upsets across the conference this week, to host Santa Monica for a WSC Play-in Game on Wednesday (3 PM).

Last week, Cuesta Women's Water Polo travelled to Long Beach for the 24-team TruWest Battle at the Beach.  The Cougars earned a spot in the top bracket and finished 14th in the tournament with a 1-3 record.  The Poloists dropped their opener to #3 Orange Coast, 20-6, and where handicapped by a slow start against Cerritos, 14-10, in their second game.  The Falcons took a 6-1 lead in the first quarter were able to maintain a three-goal cushion for the rest of the contest.  Cuesta opened the second day of the tournament with a win over Grossmont, 11-5, but also lost a re-match against WSC rival Ventura, 14-6.  The Cougars are a respectable 11-13 on the season and are currently in 3rd place in the Western State Conference.
