Women's Cross Country finished 2nd at the 2021 Western State Conference Championships and qualified for the CCCAA Regional Finals as a team for the sixth straight year. The Cougars were also chasing their first WSC Title since 1993, but were edged out by Glendale, although the runner-up standing still marked Cuesta's best finish since 2009. Freshmen Julia Voss (SLO HS) and Dulce Esquivel (SLO HS) were the first Cougars across the line, in 3rd (19:15.2) and 5th (19:34.6) places and were both selected to the 2021 All-Western State Conference First Team. In total, Cuesta's strong team finish earned eight of the Cougars' nine finishers all-conference status. Four Cuesta Harriers were accorded all-WSC Second Team recognition. Freshman Chloe Denham (Moorpark HS) finished 20th (20:31.1) and was joined by Returning Freshman Emily Mathein (Paso Robles HS) in 25th (21:03.0) and 2019 All-WSC Selection Shannon Ferrall (Arroyo Grande HS) in 28th (21:07.6) places to complete the scoring team. Freshman Amelia Schell (Paso Robles HS), 30th place (21:44.8) joined all of them on the 2021 All-WSC Second Team. Freshmen Sierra Dismuke (Visalia) and Madelyn Gonzalez (McFarland HS) both earned all-WSC Honorable Mention by crossing the line in 37th (23:01.6) and 39th (23:11.0) places, respectively.
The Cougars' Runner-up finish earned them their sixth straight trip to the post-season as a team. The Harriers qualified for the 2021 CCCAA Regional Finals at Irvine Regional Park on November 5 (Noon).
