Cuesta Women's Cross Country is on its third coach of the past three season and for the second straight season will not boast a scoring team, but that has not kept the Cougars from the front of the pack.  Cuesta Track Star Elle Casselman and Transfer Freshman Summer Gelman (pict) have been in the medal hunt in each of their first two races of the 2023 campaign.  Casselman, who opened the season with a 2nd place finish at the Tour de Cuesta, took the Bronze with 3rd place at this week's Moorpark Open She was also one of four harriers to run a sub-20-minute race on a very fast course around the Moorpark Campus.  Gelman, who took 4th place last week, finished 12th in the 60-person race at Moorpark with a very respectable time of 20:47.9. 

The duo will return to training for the next two weeks as they prepare for the 2023 SoCal Preview Meet against the best runners in the region.
