Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month. This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport. Our female selection for is March is Softballer Rylee Murry
Freshman Pitcher Rylee Murry went 3-0, including a pair of Western State Conference wins, in March and Cuesta Softball was atop the WSC standings when the season came to an end. In the first two weeks of March, Murry hurled two complete games and struck-out seven batters over 20 innings of work. She posted an earned-run average of 1.75 in the month and lowered her team-best season ERA to 3.02 over a team-leading 55.2 total innings. Murry was 6-2 on the season and also led the team with five complete games, while also posting the Cougars' only save out of the bullpen.
Cuesta Softball finished the season 16-7 overall and 2-0 against the Western State Conference. The CCCAA suspended all athletic competition on Friday, March 13.
