Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month. This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport. Our female selection for is March is Spiker Nancy Andrade
Sophomore Nancy Andrade moved from the back row to the net this year and became an offensive force for the Cougars. Andrade played all the way through the rotation, while proving herself as both a stabilizing and attacking force. Andrade demonstrated her expanded influence on each game by leading. the Cougars with both 81 kills, which ranked 6th the State, and 86 Digs. She also added nine service aces and five blocks to the Cougars' cause. Impressively, especially for a former defensive player, Andrade ranked among the leading offensive players in the State. She finished the season 6th in the State for points per set (3.4).
Women's Volleyball finished its abbreviated 2020-21 season with a 3-4 record. The Cougars hope to be back fulltime during the 2021-22 season.
