Sand Spikers Continue Their WSC Schedule at Santa Barbara on Friday

Cuesta Women's Beach Volleyball remains on the road this week with a Western State Conference Doubleheader this Friday in Santa Barbara.  The Cougars open against the host Vaqueros (10 AM) and play their nightcap against Bakersfield (11 AM). Cuesta's scheduled twinbill against Lassen, which was reset for this Tuesday, has been cancelled and shall not be rescheduled.  

The Beach squad dropped their first two WSC matches in Ventura last week.  The Cougars fell to host Ventura, 4-1, and Moorpark, 3-2, and dropped to 4-8 overall and 0-2 in WSC play.  One bright spot for the Cougars came from their #3 pair of Brynn Bennett and Amelie Lo Jocano.  The duo posted two of the Cougars' three wins on the day.  They needed three sets to get a win against Ventura (22-20, 17-21, 15-11), but earned a sweep against the Raiders (21-16, 21-16).  The duo is tied for the team lead with five wins on the season.  The Cougars are 4-8 overall and now, 0-2 in WSC play.
