Cloud and Company Reign Over the Brahmas, 10-0

Cuesta Baseball won its third straight Western State Conference (WSC) game with a 10-0 victory over visiting Los Angeles Pierce.  All-WSC Pitcher Jackson Cloud led the way by allowing only three hits and no runs into the 7th inning. Relievers Carter Stevens and Jake Ricci preserved the combined shutout, completing the shutout without allowing any hits over the last 2.1 innings. On offense, the Cougars scored in each of the four innings and slugged five extra-base hits in the contest, including a trio of home runs.  Five Cuesta batsmen enjoyed multi-hit games led by Rightfielder Jack Clothier (pict).  Clothier tuned-up the Brahmas' pitching staff by outhitting the whole Pierce line-up, 4-3, including a home run, while scoring three times and adding two RBI.  Clothier was joined by Shortstop Wade Arkinson and Catcher Stuart Jaramillo as they all homered to keep the Cougars ahead of Cypress, 32-31, on the State's home run leaderboard.  The Cougars are 13-7 overall and 6-3 against the WSC.

The Cougars continue their series with the Brahmas on Thursday (2:30) in Woodland Hills and then against back in SLO on Saturday (1 PM)
