Men's Basketball was the only Cuesta sport in action last week and the Cougars gave thanks, convincingly, by knocking off #24 Cabrillo, 70-48. Starters Lorenzo Ceffoli and Alessandro Perotti combined for 37 points to lead the Cougars in scoring, but Freshman Jozef Zlocha, from Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, came off the bench with an efficient 15 points and a game-high eight rebounds to push Cuesta past the Seahawks. Zlocha went 5-for-7 from the floor, including a three-pointer, and converted four of his five shots from the charity stripe. The victory marked the Cougars' fifth victory over the past six games and improved their record to 6-3 overall.
Cuesta's Cagers travel to Santa Clarita this Saturday (5 PM) to face their fellow Cougars at the College of the Canyons, which kicks off a six-game road trip. Cuesta shall not be back in front of their home faithful until they host Glendale on January 4 (5 PM)
