Cagers Continue to Streak with Fourth Straight Victory

Men's Basketball improved to 7-3 on the season after posting its fourth straight victory.  The Cougars hit the road to face their fellow Cougars at the College of the Canyons on Saturday.   The Cougars from San Luis Obispo held a five-point advantage at the intermission but cruised to victory in Santa Clarita by closing out the second half with a 50-30 margin before the buzzer.  Three Cougars scored in double-digits in the contest, however they were led by first-year Center Alessandro Perotti, who dominated the contest.  Perotti led all players on the floor by posting game-highs with 19 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.  Perotti did have some help on offense from Guards Shinichi Itoh and Corbin Rossi, who also scored in double digits, with 16 and 12 points, respectively.  Rossi also added six steals on defense and led a unit that forced their host into 20 turnovers, including 15 steals by the ball-hawking Cougars.

Men's Basketball remains on the road until January 3 but has five road games on the schedule before the squad returns to Cuesta's Stork Gym.  This week the Cougars travel to play at Santa Barbara for the three-day SBCC Classic.  The Cougars shall open against Long Beach City on Thursday (1 PM), with the next two contests shall be contingent on bracket placement.
