Men's Track & Field Finishes 3rd in WSC Coast Meet

Men's track & Field finished 3rd in the six-team Western State Conference Coast Meet.  Freshmen William Dawes and Owen Arreguy led the way with event titles.  Dawes, who has already cracked the Cougars' all-time Top 10 in the Long Jump and Triple Jump, won Triple and claimed the Bronze in the Long Jump, while Arreguy won the Pole Vault.  Arreguy's vault of 14-5.25 tied him with Sophomore Kevin Sweeney, who finished 3rd due to misses at lower heights, for the team's best mark of the year.  In the High Jump Freshmen Cal Corn and Trevor Parsons tied for the Silver at 5-10.75. The Cougars also received a medal worthy performance from Decathlete Joseph Tugwell in the 110-hurdles, when he cleared the course in just :16.67 to take Third.

The Cougars head to the Moorpark Invitational this Friday their final meet in the Southern Region before the championship meets begin, although the Cougars are still scheduled to attend a meet in Modesto two weeks, just before WSC Prelims.
