Men's Water Polo opens their Spring campaign this Saturday with a doubleheader at San Jose State. The Cougars begin the day against Santa Clara (Noon) and play the Spartans in the nightcap (1:30). The Cougars will see their first action of the year, while their NCAA DI foes have already played each other twice and San Jose State is already eight games into its schedule. The Cougars game against the Spartans will also hold a little extra drama, because a trio of Cuesta Alumni will be suiting up for the host team. 2020 Cuesta College Male Athlete of the Year Jack Felsted, Two-time all-State Goalie Mason Smith and two-time all-Conference Driver Zachary Tucker all spent two successful years at Cuesta, before moving onto San Jose State. Despite missing the trio of new Spartans from their 2019 line-up, the Cougars are still loaded with talent. Sophomores Aleksa Sisakovic (Belgrade, SRB) and Layne Porter (Santa Maria) both earned All American status last season. Sisakovic was second on the team to Felsted with 68 goals and Porter netted 19 goals, while also adding the 5thhighest assist total in Cuesta history with 56. 2019 all-Conference selections Jacob Sill (Clovis) and Eric Klang (Bakersfield) also return to action for the Cougars this week.
