Men's Water Polo continues to dominate the Western State Conference as they chase their fourth straight conference title and 31st of the last 44 seasons.  The Cougars improved to 3-0 against the circuit after beating both Citrus, 16-6, and host Santa Monica, 17-4, last Thursday in a WSC Mini-Tournament.  The Cougars remained on the road to play in the Cal Baptist Tournament on Friday and Saturday, where they played four games against four-year universities.  The Cougars opened against Westcliff University, where they played against three Cuesta Alumni.  Former Cuesta All-American and Two-time NCAA All-American Aleksa Sisikovic, 2022 All-State Goalie Armin Juzstin and 2023 Recruit Adam Hodi combined for eight goals and eight saves to squeak out a 14-13 win over their alma mater, despite four goals from Cuesta's Jake Escobar.  The Cougars took another loss in their nightcap against a less familiar Toronto University squad. The Canadian Club broke a tie game with a 6-1 run after the intermission en route to the win, 14-9.  On Saturday, Cuesta Center Dante Ianora got loose for six goals in a loss to Concordia-Irvine, 10-8, before the Cougars dropped their tournament finale to Redlands, 17-10.  The Cougars' four-game slide equals their longest drought since 2017, which also included a loss to a four-year program.  The Cougars are currently 11-8 overall and a sparkling 3-0 in Western State Conference play.  

The Poloists are back in SLO and back in inaction this weekend for the Cuesta II Tournament on Friday and Saturday.  The Cougars open with Merced (8 AM) and Diablo Valley (3 PM) on Friday's pool play, while Saturday's game will be determined by Friday's results.
