Freshman Goaltender Yvano Voigt demonstrated courage under fire after leading Cuesta Men's Water Polo to Third Place at the 2023 CCCAA State Championships.  The Marseillais posted 49 saves in the three-day tournament and led the Cougars to their best State finish since 2006.  He opened the tournament with a season-high 20 saves as the Cougars rallied in the second overtime to earn a measure of revenge against Sierra, 17-14, the #2-seed from Northern California.  In the CCCAA Championship Semi-Final he posted 13 saves in the Cougars' two-goal loss to eventual Champion Golden West, before helping secure the Bronze Medal with 16 saves in another overtime win over Long Beach.  Yvano sat out only one quarter this season and his 369 saves rank 4^th all time at Cuesta and 2^nd in the State this year.
