Cuesta Men's Water Polo is hosting the Cuesta Classic this weekend and heads into the events second day after dropping two games today.  The 3rd-ranked Cougars fell to #5 Long Beach,11-10, in a mid-morning barnburner, before falling to #2 Golden West in the nightcap, 17-9.  It is clear, after today's games with Golden West and Long Beach, Cuesta Coach Greg Enloe wanted his squad to face the best competition he could, because the Cougars will play all three of their fellow 2023 CCCAA Regional Finalist this weekend.  The Cougars are looking to right their record on Saturday with a pair of games against unranked American River (1:20) and #6 Orange Coast (4:50).  The Cougars last met the Pirates when they beat Orange Coast in a triple-overtime in the 2023 Southern California Regional Semi-Finals. Cuesta, ranked #3, is currently just a few spots ahead of the 6th-ranked Bucs.
