Men's Cross Country Opens with Silver at the Tour de Cuesta

Men's Cross Country's all-freshman "green machine" powered to a runner-up finish at their Tour de Cuesta.  The Cougars placed three harriers in the Top 10, including team leader Weston Greenelsh, who took the overall Bronze (22:12.6).  All of his fellow rookie teammates cracked the Top 25 as the young squad pushed its way to the top during its first competition.  Nick York and JP Walsh also cracked the Top 10 after landing in 5th (20:40.4) and 8th (23:19.9), respectively, while David Maya-Shelton and Aiden Gibson completed the Cougars' scoring as the 20th (24:58.6) and 25th (26:20.6) runners across the line.

Cuesta's Harriers shall enjoy a two-week break before they dive into the meat of their competitive season with three races in 15 days.  Next up for the Cougars is the Oxnard Invitational on September 6.
