Cuesta Softball opened its eight-game homestand against Reedley and lost for the first time this season.  The 4-0 Cougars faced the 0-4 Tigers at Cuesta Field and the two teams battled on the diamond for five hours.  Reedley struck first in the opener on an unearned run, but that was the story of the day as only five of the Tigers' 13 runs were earned.  The Cougars took their first lead of the day on Katie Lamar's two-run home run in the bottom of the inning and added another run in the 2^nd, but Reedley took the lead for good after another Cuesta error led to three more unearned runs in the 3^rd frame. The Tigers also scored in each of the last three innings to close out the win, 9-4, .  In the nightcap, Cuesta took the early lead, again, on back-to-back first inning, RBI-singles by Josie Simas and Mikayla Nunlist, but a pair of errors and a double steal by Reedley evened the game in the 5^th inning.  It took another five innings for the game to finally be decided when Reedley's Pitcher Amanda Beltran helped herself with a leadoff triple in the 10^th inning and scored two batters later.  Cuesta had a chance to push the game to another inning after Josie Simas smashed a one-out double in the 10^th inning, but the game ended with her stranded at Third Base, 4-3.

The Cougars host a mini-tournament this Friday and Saturday with Sacramento and Siskiyous.
