Cuesta Women's Basketball hosted the Taft Cougars to pick up their first win of the season.  It has been a long road for the Cougars since the program just three games into the season in November 2019, but women's basketball returned with authority! This year's "Cougar Five" beat the "other" Cougars, from Taft, 58-32, in a gym devoid of fans.  Both teams were ice cold in the opening quarter (9-5), but Cuesta lit up the scoreboard in the 2nd quarter and went into halftime with a 33-13 lead.  All of the Cougars produced in the victory, however it was Millinghaus connection that powered Cuesta.  Freshmen Derricka Millinghaus (Oak Grove, MS) and Miracle Millinghaus (Scheneclady, NY) each produced a double-double in the victory.  Derricka led all scorers with 17 points and pulled down ten rebounds, while also pickng up eight steals, and Miracle combined her ten rebounds with 11 points and a game-high three assists.  

Cuesta Women's Basketball hosts the opening game of Cuesta's men's and women's doubleheader against Antelope Valley on March 13 (4 PM).
