The Cuesta Cagers travel to Glendale for a men's and women's doubleheader against the Vaqueros this Saturday (3/5 PM) for their final pre-conference contest.  The Vaqueros play in the Western State Conference South Division, while the Cougars claim the WSC-North.  The Cougars are one of five teams in the seven-team WSC-North to earn votes in last week's State Polls, while Glendale is currently the top team in the South Loop and #8 statewide.  The women's game shall play the nightcap on Saturday and are scheduled to start at 7 PM, while the men take the floor at 5 PM.  

The women travelled to Salinas for a pre-New Year's game on December 29 and were upset by their host Hartnell, 65-54.  The Panthers jumped out with 20-9 first quarter lead and never let the Cougars get comfortable.  Cuesta was unable to put a dent in their initial deficit as the two teams posted identical totals in each of the last three quarters, 15-15, 16-16, 14-14.  The loss dropped the Cougars to 11-4 on the season, despite a game-high 25 points from Sophomore Forward Abigail Lacy.
