
Cuesta Women's Basketball sits square in the middle on the table in the Western State Conference with a 4-4 record. The Cougars have alternated wins and losses all the through the conference play, while posting neither consecutive wins nor losses. Three weeks ago, the Cougars were getting votes the State's Top 20, but they will need to finish strong over their last four regular season contests to earn a second straight playoff berth. The Cougars open this week at home and are favored to post a victory over current WSC cellar-dweller Oxnard on Wednesday (5 PM). Cuesta beat the Condors, 86-24, in their first meeting in Oxnard and are favored to hand them their 36th straight conference loss. Cuesta will then try to squash their own losing streak, when the travel to Ventura on Saturday (3 PM). The Cougars lost to the Pirates in their first meeting, 69-63, in SLO, despite leading at half time and entering the final quarter within one-point. Cuesta Women's Basketball has not beaten Ventura since 1995. Cuesta is currently 13-10 overall.
Cuesta lost to #4 Moorpark last Saturday, 94-53, in Moorpark and fell to 13-10 on the season. Point Guard Bella Musolff and Reserve Forward Kiera Taylor (Pict) were the only Cougars to reach double digits in scoring, with 12 and 10 points respectively, while Forward Fiona Durham added eight points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
