Cuesta Wrestling brought some confidence to the Santa Ana Tournament on Saturday, after picking up a SouthEast Conference Dual victory over East LA on Friday.  Ten Cuesta grapplers combined for a 22-19 record in the tournament, including three place winners.   2021 Regional Qualifier Quinn Patrick (pict-L) and Freshman Reily Lowry (pict-R) battled it out at 174 with a combined 6-2 mark in the division.  Unfortunately, the teammates were on the same side of the bracket, so Cuesta had to settle with Patrick in 2nd place and Lowry in 3rd.  Freshman Devon Mayhew had the toughest day as he battled his way on to the podium with 6th place.  Mayhew lost his opening bout but battled back into the consolation semi-finals.  He was on the mat for a team-high six matches

Wrestling is back in action in the other direction this week.  The Cougars head on Wednesday for a SouthEast Conference Dual against West Hills-Lemoore on Wednesday (6 PM) and spend Saturday at the Modesto Tournament.
