Wrestling finished 5th at the 2022 SouthEast Conference Tournament in the Bakersfield last Saturday.  The Cougars also placed five wrestlers on the All-SEC teams and their eight-man squad combined a post a 13-15 record in the meet.  Freshman Leon Tippett (pict) was the team's lone title winner.  Tippett went 2-0 at 184 to earn his title as a SEC Champion.  One class ahead of him, Reily Lowry claimed the Bronze at 174 with a 3-1 mark.  Freshmen Gabriel Rivera (125) and Danny Gonzalez (133) joined 2021 All-SEC Second Teamer Quinn Patrick (165) as all-SEC Honorable Mention selections after earning 4th place in their respective divisions.  This quintet of all-SEC performers will also lead the Cougars to the 2022 CCCAA Southern California Regional Tournament in early December.

The Cougars travel to East LA this Saturday to complete the 2022 regular season at the Brawl Tournament (All Day).   The tournament is the final chance for grapplers to improve their standing or earn a spot in the post-season.
