Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month. This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport. Our male selection for September is Freshman Grappler Grant Eklund
Freshman Wrestler Grant Eklund has burst onto the scene of CCCAA Wrestling. Eklund has compiled a 14-2 record at 157 over his first month on the mats. In his first collegiate action he reached the title match at the Sacramento Tournament and claimed the overall Silver. The next week, he lost in the semi-final but bounced back to take 3rd place and collect the Bronze. In his final tournament of the month, Eklund made it to the top of the podium with a tournament title in Santa Ana.
The Cougars are currently undefeated against the SouthEast Conference and will complete their SEC Dual schedule this month. They are also set to host the 21st Meathead Mover Invitational on October 26.
