Women's Soccer Falls to Local Rival Allan Hancock, 5-0

Women's Soccer Falls to Local Rival Allan Hancock, 5-0

Women's Soccer held visiting #18 Allan Hancock in-check for the first 20 minutes of today's contest, however the Bulldogs rattled off three winners between the 20th and 26th minutes to take control of the contest.  The Cougars dug in after the flurry to hold their local rival in check until halftime but were unable to answer on the scoreboard.  After the intermission, the Cougars challenged Allan Hancock's defense, including a couple of shots off the goal frame, while also slowing down the Bulldogs' offense, except for Kaihla Lopez.  Lopez, who assisted on a goal in the first half, scored twice in the second half to put the game out of reach and vault the Bulldogs into first place in the Western State Conference standings, a full game ahead of Santa Barbara City.  The Cougars are currently 1-12 overall and 0-8 in WSC play.

The Cougars are back in action this Friday (4 PM) when they welcome Oxnard for another WSC contest.  The Condors are just one-game ahead of Cuesta in WSC play, but also beat the Cougars, 3-0, during their first meeting in Oxnard on October 3rd.
