Cuesta Women's Soccer hosted #18 Santa Barbara City for a Western State Conference contest and fell to their highly regarded foes, 2-0. The visiting Vaqueros' attack got to work straight away as Amalia Nolan scored just three minutes into the contest, while her teammate Morea Juneau put the game out of less than ten minutes later. Cuesta cracked off seven shots in the game, including five in the second half, but were unable to land anything in the nets. After the initial burst, Cuesta Goalie Shae Mansfield and her defense shut down Santa Barbara's vaunted attack for the last 80 minutes of action, while she collected 9 saves. The loss dropped the back Cougars below .500 at 4-5-2 overall and 1-3 in WSC play.
Cuesta Futbol returns to the pitch with a WSC game at Moorpark next Tuesday (4 PM).
