
Cuesta Women's Swim & Dive finished 3rd at last week's Western State Conference Mini-Meet in SLO. The Cougars were only able to suit-up four women for the races, but still scored in eight of their nine individual events. The quartet also added a title in the meet opening 400-medley relay and a runner-up spot in the meet closing 400-freestyle relay. Returning Freshman Meghan Abbott led the Cougars on the day and finished 2nd in the meet with 52 individual points. She won the 1650-freestyle in 20:10.85, while also finishing 2nd in the 100-freestyle and 4th in the 50-freestyle. True Freshmen Jensen Perry, Chloe Porter and, Anna Kreowski rounded out the Cougars' scoring team. Perry won the 200-freestyle (2:06.50) and finished 3rd in the 100-freestyle (:58.73) to score 36 individual points, while Porter scored 32 points with a runner-up finish in the 200-backstroke (2:32.36) and chasing Perry for 4th place in the 200-freestyle (2:14.95). Kreowski swam all the relays and finished 9th in the 50-freestyle (:27.61) to complete the Cougars scoring.
The Cougars travel to Visalia this Friday for the Sequoias Tri-Meet on Friday (2 PM)
