Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month.  This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport.  Our female selection for February is Swimmer Chloe Porter. 

Returning All American Chloe Porter led the Cougars through their first Western State Conference Mini Meet on February 17.  Cuesta's four-woman team took 5^th place in the meet, despite Porter leading all individual scorers with 24 points.  Porter won the 100-backstroke (1:00.53) and took 4th place in three events, the 100-breastroke and the 50 and 100-freestyles.  Porter also enjoyed a fantastic performance in the season opening WSC Preview on February 10. Porter paced the team in points after making "big finals" (Top 8) in each of her three events.  She landed in 6^th place in the 100-backstroke to post the team's top mark of the meet.  She also finished 7^th in the 50-freestyle and 8^th in the 100-freestyle. Unfortunately, the event didn't feature Porter's best event, the 200-backstroke, where she ranks 7^th all time at Cuesta.

Women's Swim & Dive had its last meet rained out, but the Aqua-Cats host the 44^th Arena Invitational in mid-March.
