Women Aqua-Cats Take 4th at Five-team WSC Mini-Meet

Women's Swimming claimed 4th place out of five teams in their third and final Western State Conference Mini Meet.  Freshman Presley Acosta's (pict) 5th place finish in the 200-breaststroke (2:56.02) earned the Cougars four points and put them a dozen points ahead of Pierce in the standings with one event remaining in the meet.  The Cougars did not field a team for the meet-ending rival 800-freestyle relay, however the rival Brahmas landed in 6th place, which left them two points behind Cuesta in the overall standings.  All American Chloe Porter led the Cougars with 16 individual points and finished 6th overall in the meet.  Porter's Bronze in 200-backstroke (2:33.80) was the Cougars top finish in the meet, while Acosta final swim earned her the team's first mark of the season worthy of Cuesta all-time Top 10 list.  Her time in the 200-breaststroke moved her into 8th on Cuesta's all-time Top 10 list and knocked teammate Ryan Rascon's 2022 time out of the Top 10.

Swimming travels to the Pasadena Invitational this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  The invitational is the Cougars final competition before the three-day 2023 Western State Conference Meet begins April 20 in Van Nuys.
