Freshman Swimmer Amelia Braun was the Cougars' leading scorer and helped post two Cuesta season-best marks, including an all-time Top 10 time, at the last week's WSC Mini Met in Santa Maria. Braun opened the day with 5th place in the 100-freestyle (1:01.59), before joining the 400-freestyle and 400-medley relays. She helped lead the Cougars to a Bronze, while swimming the butterfly leg in the 400-medley relay, while also helping the team post a season-best time of 4:30.46 in the event. Braun also took on the grueling 200-butterfly to earn a Bronze of her own. Her time of 2:45.93 earned her 3rd place in the race and moved her into 6th place for the event all time at Cuesta. Braun, who was all-Conference for water polo during the Fall, is the current team-leader in three events; the 200-freestyle (2:12.67), 100-butterfly (1:09.03) and 200-butterfly (2:45.93), while also ranking second in the tank for the 100-individual medley.
Cuesta Swim & Dive travels to the Bakersfield Invitational this Friday for their final regular season meet.
