Women's Track & Field returned from a two-week break to compete in the Cal Poly Open last weekend. The non-scoring provided the restless Cougars a chance to showcase all the work they have been over the past fortnight. The women posted ten new season-best marks and added three new entries on Cuesta All Time Top 10 list. Freshman Ashley Gose led the way with two new marks. Her leap of 16' 11" in the Long Jump earned the 6th spot on the Cougars' Top 10, while teammate Madeline Scovil missed the her on the lost by just two inches. Scovil cleared 16-1.25, which fell short of Ruby Fiori's 2022 current #10 mark of 16-3.25. Gose also covered the 100m Dash in :13.03 to claim the 10th spot on Cuesta's Top 10, where only eight women have broken the 13-second barrier. In the Throws, 2022 Regional Qualifier Anessa Palomino (pict) posted team season-best marks in the Hammer (105-11.5) and Discus (106-0.75). Her Discus mark also earned her the 10th spot on Cuesta's All Time Top 10.
Cuesta Track & Field shall split its roster this week with the bulk of the team heading to the Jack Albiani Meet in Modesto on Friday and Saturday, while the Harriers travel to the Oxy Distance Carnival at Occidental College in Los Angeles on Saturday.
