Freshman Harrier Brinley Ewen led Cuesta Women's Track & Field to 14th place at the 2024 CCCAA State Track & Field Championships.  Ewen's runner-up finish in the 1,500-meter run accounted for eight of 19 total points for the Cougars' five-woman State squad.  Her time of 4:42.23, trailed State Champion Danna Ibarra Canales from Saddleback, who was running on her home course, by just over two seconds.  Ewen burst onto the scene for Cuesta this year and owns a school Top 10 mark in each of the championship distance events, including moving up to the 7th spot all time in the "metric mile" last weekend.
