Women's Volleyball Star Maddie Honeycutt Transfers to William Jessup

Freshman Women's Volleyball Star Maddie Honeycutt has accepted a scholarship to William Jessup University in Rocklin, California.  Honeycutt, who joined Cuesta out of Arroyo Grande High School, was named to the 2019 All Western State Conference First Team and was Cuesta College's Most Valuable Player.  She burst onto the collegiate scene and as a dominant offensive force, however it was her all-around game that elevated the Cougars to their best winning percentage since 2007.  Honeycutt led the Cougars with 286 kills and collected them in bunches.  Her 28 kills against Santa Barbara on October 11 were only one away from the recognized school record set by Courtney Carroll in 2003, while her five games with 20 or more kills tied Carroll's program record.    Honeycutt played all the way through the rotation for the Cougars and was second on the team in both digs (165) and aces (34).  Her average of 4.4 points per game ranked 20th in the State and is the tied for 6th all time at Cuesta.

Jessup is a NAIA school and plays in the Golden State Athletic Conference, Honeycutt joins a Warrior squad that 13-13 and 6th in GSAC.
