Spikers Continue Second Swing Through the WSC

Cuesta Women's Volleyball will open this week with their third straight road game but shall be back at Stork Gym to host Moorpark on Friday (6 PM).  The Cougars open the week on the road in Woodland Hills, where they shall face the Los Angeles Pierce Brahmas.  Cuesta swept Pierce (26-24, 25-22, 25-12) in the first round, after a hard fought first set and the Brahmas, who are currently winless in the WSC play, are the only team in the circuit to not garner any votes in last week's State Poll.  On Friday, the Cougars are back at home to face the other end of the WSC table with #9 Moorpark.  The Raiders, who are 18-4 overall, sit atop the WSC Standings with an 8-1 record and have only dropped seven sets in WSC play.

The Cougars went on the road to face #12 Santa Barbara last Wednesday, but also enjoyed a bye in their WSC schedule on Friday.  The Cougars pushed the Vaqueros to four games when they came to SLO, but fell in three games in Santa Barbara (25-12, 25-19, 25-20) last Wednesday.  Cuesta is 11-13 on the season and 2-6 against the WSC.
