Women's Volleyball closed out the regular season with a win over Citrus in the Western State Conference Crossover.  This was the second meeting of the season for the Cougars and Owls and Cuesta won them both.  Today, Cuesta jumped out of the gate and took the opening set, 25-20, but the Owls fought back.  Cuesta grabbed control early but stalled at 10 points and allowed the Owls to catch them.  The rest of the set was a battle for control.  They tied at 11, 15, 20, 21, 24 and 25, before Citrus evened the match, 27-25, after enduring four set points.  The Owls were spent after the battle, which allowed Cuesta to retake control with the most lopsided set of the evening, 25-16.  Citrus rallied early in the 4th set, but the Cougars 11-11 and pushed on to match point at 24-20. Citrus hung on for two more serves before surrendering the game and match to Cuesta, 25-22.  The Cougars finish the regular season 13-16 overall and as the 5th place team in the WSC-North. The Cougars honored their sophomores tonight as they played their final contests at Stork Gym- Bailey Woodside (pict), Madelyn Freeman, Hannah Colletti, Naima Omega, Alexis Waltz and Karlee Leary.

The Crossover is used by the WSC to determine seeding between the teams in its North and South divisions.  The Cougars and Owls both landed in 5th place in their division and, like the rest of the conference, played today to streamline the seeding process and earn a playoff berth.  The Cougars are chasing their first playoff berth since 2021, but as a 5th place they are a long shot, however all four of the teams ranked of Cuesta in the WSC Standings are ranked in among the State's Top 17 teams and in the Southern Regional's Top 11.  in the CCCAA, twenty women's volleyball teams advance to the playoffs from SoCal.

Playoff seeds shall be determined after the regular season officially concludes next Tuesday.  The post-season begins on Saturday, November 23
