Three Cuesta Harriers Earn All-WSC Honors

All three members of the Cuesta Women's Cross-Country team were accorded all-Western State Conference honors at last Saturday's 2022 WSC Finals in Ventura.  Freshman Paige Medrano led the team and earned a spot on the 2022 All-WSC First Team, while Sophomores Dulce Esquivel and Adrienne Frere were accorded second team and honorable mention, respectively.  Medrano led the Cougars for the first time this season, while dropping more than thirty-seconds off her previous season-best with a time of 20:04.7.  Esquivel, a 2021 All-WSC First Teamer, was relegated to the 2022 All-WSC Second Team after finishing 16th overall.  Her time of 20:35.6 left her two seconds out of 15th place and a repeat first team selection.  Frere returned to action for the first time in three weeks with a solid 37th place finish to earn all-WSC Honorable Mention (Top 45).  Last year, Frere sat out the WSC Finals, before posting 45th place finishes at both the Regional and State Meets.

Next up for the Cougars is the 2022 CCCAA Southern Regional Meet in Bakersfield on November 4.
