Duo of Esquivel and Medrano Both Land in Region's Top 30

Women's Cross Country sent only two Harriers to the 2022 CCCAA Regional Meet last Friday and both finished in the Top 30 of the 137-woman race.  2021 State Qualifier Dulce Esquivel (pict) finished 23rd with a time of 19:25.0 and Freshman Phenom Paige Medrano landed in 30th place.  Medrano just over 10 seconds back from Esquivel with a time of 19:36.1.  Both Harriers were selected to the 2022 CCCAA All-Region Second Team, which also marks Esquivel's second time on the list.  The Cougars have not fielded a scoring team (Five finishers) this season, so all of their races have been competed as individuals.  

The CCCAA State Cross Country Championships is scheduled for November 19 at Woodward Park in Fresno, but only the Top 21 teams shall be invited.  Both Esquivel and Medrano should be locks to make the at-large field for the CCCAA State Meet.
