2021 Cuesta Athlete of the Year Madeline Fletcher stepped up to lead the Cougars to 17th place at last week's SoCal Preview Meet. Fletcher, who returned to Cuesta for her second season on the course after graduating from St Mary's College, finished 7th (20:09.1) overall amongst the 168 competitors from 21 teams.  She was joined in the Top 50 by teammate Serena Stamford, who finished 33rd (22:06.4) overall, Sydney Culp (103rd), Matilda Bravante (131st) and Quinn Dubrul (141st) completed the Cougars scoring team.  

Cuesta's Harriers have a two-week bye, before entering their championship schedule.  The Cougars next event shall be the 2024 Western State Conference Championship at Oxnard College on October 25.  The Cougars raced at Oxnard on October 6th; the teams second start of the season.
